: How do you access the master cylinder ?

I am changing the rear brake pads and need to access the master cylinder. I know it is under the micro filter housing on the drivers side. Are there any tricks to get the housing off without breaking something ? Thanks in advance. :)

Shall I move this to the 3 Series ?

Forget it. I figured it out.

3-series doesn't have anything blocking the master cylinder! :)

Glad to hear you figured it out. They are a PITA to say the least but not too terrible to do. Perhaps you can appreicate how difficult it might to explain in words how to do it other than just "mess with it" and "be careful"! My only advice would be to be sure and disconnect the wiring going to in right in the front, snap off the ducting heading into the interior, and then jockey it around a bit to remove it. :) It is just as much fun to put back in.
