n00b here-

I think my battery is dead. How do I jumpstart my X3 safely? What kind of battery is it?

There are special connectors under the hood (in front) to be used for jumper cables despite the fact that the battery is in the rear under the cargo area floor panel. The batteries are supplied by Douglas in the U.S. URL:

Here's an idea... Hit the SOS button on the car and let them come and fix it :)

I don't think that will work if the battery is dead!!!!!

hmmm, good point... In the instruction manual it states that you jump the car on the terminals under the hood. Connect up to the terminals in the passenger side of the car. The instruction manual shows you the spots (2&3) on page 93

I don't think that will work if the battery is dead!!!!!
