I wonder if someone can verify the correct behavior of the Dinan engine/tramission software upgrades:
My understanding is that the tranny software upgrade for the Steptronic raises the shift engine rev points in both normal Drive mode and in Sport mode, but that Drive and Sport modes both still shift automatically, unless manual is engaged (as per OEM functionality). Is that correct?
I read somewhere else that someone got the upgrade and their Sport mode no longer shifts automatically, but now only works like manual mode. This does not seem right.
What I'm expecting to get is that D and S are still automatic, but they shift with higher revs. Manual mode is as before, except that engine redline is a bit higher.
Can someone confirm, refute, clarify the above, please?
BTW: this is for a 2002 530iA sport.
TIA
