Chrome kidney grille slats & 2005s

Hello there,

The "bimmerfestX3info.pdf" document found at:

explains the differences between the 2004 and 2005 X3 3.0i (and 2.5i). On page 2 of the document it says that the 2005 3.0i has "Chrome kidney grille slats".

Or I went to my dealer 3 days ago to see their first 2005 X3 3.0i and it didn't have any chrome kidney grille slats. It was the usual black plastic color. All other changes between the 04s and the 05s as described in the document were on the car except for this one.

Has anybody received or seen a 3.0i 2005 with a chrome kidney grille?

Not sure if the US gets the chrome grills- The 2005 X3 I saw today at the dealer had a chrome grill....
