The USA debut of the E90 sedan should be at the NY Auto Show. I believe the first US customer ones arrive in May.

Apparently so... but Easter Sunday is March 27th... I'm only asking for the 26th. :D

I'm going to start planning next week and will start taking names down later next week.

alee,
I would suggest we look for a place that is within walking distance, and can easily accommodate a large group. Good food is a key consideration as well. To me cuisine type is secondary to these criteria.

Yeah I've yet to find a "perfect" place... the last 2 years have been ok, but I'd like someplace a bit less noisy so we can actually hear each other talk. :)

ZUm Schneider is good--although it gets very, very crowded on Saturday nights. My new favorite is Loreley-- but its also downtown and it sounds like most people would find it more convenient to go somewhere uptown.

I have a couple of ideas, based on the desire for staying within walking distance to the car show:
44 & X Hell's Kitchen
622 10th Ave. (44th St.)
(212) 977-1170
cuisine: American(New)
Market Cafe
496 Ninth Ave. (between 37th and 38th Sts.)
212-967-3892
cuisine: American, French
RUBY FOO'S
1626 Broadway (49th St.)
(212) 489-5600
cuisine: Asian
I haven't been to all of them but they do come recommended and they should be able to accommodate a large group too.

For proximity, good Korean Bar-B-Q is not far: 32nd off Broadway. For something really different with space to handle us (and a beautiful view), what about Arthur's Landing? Free ferry from the west side for those who dare to dine on the NJ side?
Other than that, I'm game for anywhere our out-of-town visitors would like, particularly if it's got good accoustics for conversation.
Sorry I couldn't accomodate a closer location... most people indicated a preference for German, keeping with the BMW "theme", and of the places I called, the Heidelberg seemed the most willing to accomodate our large party... so:
Heidelberg Restaurant
1648 Second Avenue (between 85th and 86th Street)
http://staff.pop3now.com/alee/bmw/automeet/
Reservation is for the BMW Dinner, at 6:30pm.
I will send an email with more info. Look forward to seeing everyone!

I am really sorry I had to cancel at the last minute. I wished I could have spent the evening with you guys. I would have enjoyed talking BMW with fellow Festers around a few German beers  especially after seeing the E90 and E60 M5 at the NY auto show...
Instead I went to Ruth's Chris Steak House with my in-laws (they decided to come to the city on Sat. night instead of Sunday morning). It wasn't too bad though. They are good people!

Hey, if you can believe it, I got off my fat ass and put together an album of all my photos from the show, including all of the goofy ones I took for the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep contest. I'm really bummed, but the camera card where I took the movie of the Chevy dyno test was corrupted, so I lost 'em.
They're uploading now, so they should all be available within 1/2 an hour or so of this posting.
Enjoy!

Well, this figures!
My website's been hosted by my former company, for free, since I got laid off. They told me they were eventually closing the facilityback in January, but they'd give me a few day's notice when they were actually going to make that happen.
More like a few hours! Today, I was called and told to come pick up the system this afternoon. I was SOL, and a whole bunch of people who had their DNS setup there were royally screwed. I have found a new home for my server, in the same building, but with one of the former partners of my former company, before they sold it. I got the system up and running, and can go outward, but I can't reach it. I've already contacted the guy, and he said he may need to open up something in their firewall for me to gain access. Natch, he just moved, and hasn't gotten access to the firewall just yet. He's working on that, and the site should be back in bidniss very soon.
--Update on 4/8/2005
Site's finally back online.
