I got a 99 540 sport. The certification on it expires on 04/2005. My power stering leaks would that be covered under the warranty? Also how do I reset the Oil indecator. And what are the other two filters under my hood???? Thanks :eeps:

Power steering leak is covered, two filters under hood are your AC micro filters.

need a computer to reset the oil indicator, the dealer should do it for free if its under warranty.

You can place a wire on pin #7 and on a grounding pin #19 or better yet, ground to your shock tower bolt. Make the connection for about 3-5 seconds and it should reset. I have not tried this but, many fellow enthusiasts have and it works just fine.

With the ignition off, put a wire between pins 7 and 19. Turn the ignition to position 2, "run." (Do not start the engine.) After just a couple seconds, remove the jumper wire. (If you wait eight to ten seconds, it will do an Inspection reset.)

On my E30 the lights reset without removing the wire, but on the E38 the wire has to come out. The E39 should be like the E38.

Great info-. I'm assuming this should work on my '00 as well...I'll give it a try. Thanks.
