I just got a new IPOD PHOTO.

Which format is the ultimate? ACC, MP?, or something else?

Thanks in advance . . .

From what I have read AAC is a more efficient compression scheme. Also, this is the format used by the iTunes Music Store.

AAC is a higher encoding rate that takes up less space. Thus it's a superior format. The downside is that it only works with the iPod and a few other players. When you encode a song at higher bit rates they sound better - and when you compare a song encoded at 128kbps in AAC, it's roughly equivalent in sound quality to an mp3 at 160kbps. I'd do that math for you, but it's sort of more than you'd want to digest.

I suggest the 128kbps AAC default that Apple has in iTunes. I think mp3 is dying and the AAC format really is quite nicely done.
