Today the Houston Chapter of the BMWCCA had their Wash Wax Tech -IV. Over 50 BMWCCA members were in attendance including 2 Bimmerfest members, nbaker and myself.(Where were the rest of Houstonian BF'rs? :dunno: ) It was held at BMW of Houston - North. Basically it was a communal wash and wax your car event with some tech sessions thrown in.
You could wash your car by hand or you had the dealership staff wash it. After that you were allow to use the dealership's service bays as a place you could wax and detail your car. Dealership staff was available to answer questions and in some cases perform repairs. A fellow ZHP'er had all his ignition coils replaced per an SB since 1 of the coils failed.
At noon we were provided lunch at no charge just like the whole event was free of charge. After lunch, door prizes were raffled. The door prizes were donated by the dealerships and included gift certificates to the service department, boutique, BMW/Mini clothing and caps, items from the Lifestyles catalog, etc. Eveybody went home with a door prize. I got a model of the Mini Cooper S.:)
One of the tech sessions the really interested me was the ding repair. A product that I was not familiar with was demo'ed. It is called Langka. In a a sense it is like a liquid sander that flattens out the top of your touch up blob. Check out their website (http://www.langka.com/).
The rest afternoon was spent finishing detailing your car. I don't think my car has been this shiny since I took delivery in Munich. :D Even though I used a buffer I am sore.
This event is held once a year and is a great way to meet other BMW owners.
