Cr@ppy-@ass driving by the Civic driver.:thumbdwn:Yeah, he needed a big ass wing on the back and a pair of 18"s bumping to give him some extra power too. :)
That Civic driver is really good to be able to keep up with that Lotus :yikes:

The Lotus dude ought to commit sucide immediately. Or Lotus should kill him.

So, being someone with zero track time and having no formal instruction, what exactly was crappy about the Civic driver and the Lotus driver?
Just on first viewing, the Civic driver seems to hit the rev limiter a lot (and was that shift light aftermarket or stock?). Does he apex too soon?

Please let us know the level of driver you're comparing him against to consider his driving "crappy ass".
I'm comparing him to the solid A or B group students I've had at the BMW CCA driving schools.
Reasons for his crappy @ss driving?
He is constantly shuffling his hands on the steering wheel;
He is inconsistent in hitting each apex lap after lap;
He has no idea what RPM his engine is in (he surprised himself in several turns when the rev limiter kicked in);
He looked down at the shifter to see what gear he was in (at least once that I can remember); and
He is racing with the Elise at what seems to be a driving school, not a race, based on the fact that he was given point-bys.
It clearly wasn't THAT bad... better than most people, even if they have minimal track experience.
Being better than most people means absolutely nothing, since most people can't drive worth sh!t in the U.S., as opposed to Europe, for example. Just because he stayed on the track is no indication of good driving skills.

Actualy pretty lousy drivng by both.
Also, he was over a car width in from the track edge at several turn ins. Several early apexes. Several times way early and had to correct out. Alsmot tail ending the Elise when the Elise almost hit the other car. I was wondering when he wasn't slowing down as the Elsie nailed the brakes and swerved to miss the other car.
And I agree, inconsistant on apees, sometimes on the curb, sometimes well off the apex. Pick one and do it.
