: Should I get body-matched paint?

Just wondering what the general feeling was towards it.

It is for my 2005 X3 w/Titanium paint, and I am thinking about having the dealer paint over the plastic side-cladding with matching paint.

Have a look at one of the newer Azteks...those have that same kind of plastic painted over. Never quite looks right.

It sounds like a great idea ... I have thought about having it done on my wife's Volvo XC90 which has a lot of black plastic exterior trim ...

I bet your car would look great!!

I know BMW was going for the "rugged" look when they used all that black plastic on the x3. But, they ended up with the cheap look. Paint them-- but find a good bodyshop since there's a lot of surface area, and if they don't do a good job you'll really notice (and it might peel).

You should get paint that matches your body. ;)

You should get paint that matches your body. ;)

But what color do you get if you are a "rich white woman" like Michael Jackson? :p
