I have 4 OEM Type 44 rims for sale for cheap but 2 are "out of round" damaged.
1) These rims where repainted (OEM silver grey), so there is no visible curb rash, but they did have curb rash before the repainting.
2) 2 of the rims are perfect & straight, garanteed.
3) 2 of the rims don't have any visible bends, but are slightly out of round and because of that cause minor vibrations at 60mph+ but is not noticable under 60mph.
4) These rims don't have tires mounted but I do have 3 225/45/17 A/S tires with 30% tread remaining if interested which I will include for free if they are of use to you.
$250 picked up, I'm located in CT.
I'm not sure if the damage can be repaired, I've never looked into it. The wheels (2) don't have any visual bends you can see, but for some reason they are out of round. The set is driveable, especially around town you can't notice anything, but will cause vibrations when you get up to highway speed. 2 of the wheels are completely straight and true, and 2 have this "out of round" problem. I bought them off of someone from bimmerforums for $650 and when I picked them up they looked great but it wasn't untill I had them mounted with tires and put them on the car that I noticed this. I called the guy "bemdub" who sold them to me and he told me that "he never noticed the problem and would call me back when he decided what to do for me about this." He's full of S--T because now he won't return my calls. I'd be happy if he just gave me half of the money back, but he's obviously a low-life dirt bag with no conceince. Honestly, I could have listed these wheels and sold them quickly if I never mentioned this problem, because they look fine when you look at them and you won't notice the problem untill you get them on the car. Of course I'm an honest person and if I did something like that, that would make me no better then the dirt bag who sold them to me. I like posting on these forums and I want to maintain a good reputation with everyone here. So I'm hoping that someone will want the 2 good wheels, and maybe just deal with the other 2 wheels or get them repaired if possible. Originally there were 5 wheels, but the 5th wheel is really out of round bad so I wasn't going to even sell it, but if the wheels are repairable I could include that one also. Here's a link to the original post and these are the wheels I bought, he claims them to be "refinished, mint, and 80% tread on the tires. " (which turned out to be more like 30% tread left): http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218372
And a link to the thread where "bemdub" hijacked to sucker me into the sale: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248338 (see post #11)
I'll post up some pictures of the rims as they are now with no tires mounted, I don't have a digital cam so I have to take pictures with a regular camera and then have them transfered to CD so I can upload them which is why pics will take a few days.
If anyone knows this A$$ or if there is anything I can do please let me know, otherwise I'm hoping for $250 OBO for everything.
edit: fixed broken links
