BMW Electric Sunshade fix solution?

Can anyone suggest a fix for the electric sunscreen on the 2001 and newer rear sunscreen. At fist, one side of the screen broke off at the top which the part seemed rivited and held the pole with the screen, now both sides are broken. The car is no longer under warrenty and I would hate to buy a whole new unit. The actual plastic piece seems insignificant but it does not seem as if it is sold seperatley. :dunno:

Short of getting a brand new unit because they don't sell it in pieces, a junk yard that might have an 2001+ E39 in it is your best bet.

Another thought is to take it to someone who might be able to fix the broken rivets and replace the fabric or something. Can you post a pic so we can offer further advice?
