After reading about the flashlight, I decided to look in my new 2005 X3 to see if mine came with one. I found it and tried to yank it out, thinking that it was removeable. What's the deal with this flashlight? Can it be removed? What happens when the bulb burns out? Does it run on the cars battery, or does it have its own battery?

It is a backup for when the vanity mirror lamp blows.

Seriously, it is a rechargable flashlight. Just pull it out. There is some resistance, but fear not.

Hi all. I am a hi-end flashlight designer, is it OK to show some photos here?

Also the really hot models holding the flashlights:bigpimp:. My glovebox flashlight comes out OK but is a lousy light IMHO. I have a little $2. keychain disc light that has vastly more lumens in a package the size of a thick quarter.

Does the 09 models have a flashlight too?

I don't recall ever seeing one or reading about it.

I don't recall ever seeing one or reading about it. I wouldn't really call it a flash light but check your glovebox... its a rectangular thing with a bulb the size of a pen head... it gives hardly any light

Recently, people in U.S. can only order in my site.

I agree. It's good for reading a map at best. I have SureFire's in all of my cars and all over the house.
Do not depend on the glove compartment light for any kind of emergency.

I am curious about that glove light. Does it have a good looking?

neo, it is a small grey rectangle that plugs in a socket on the left hand side of the glove box. It is difficult to remove and has a very poor (IMHO) light output with a single small bulb. I personally consider it useless, but at least it does emit some light. You would never be able to change a tire with the light at night, but you might be able to find your keys if you dropped them. I also keep another more powerful light in the door pocket and also in the rear area. That is why I was interested in the NeoFab II, it seems like a good high power light at a reasonable cost.
