Folks,

I have a pair of rear M5 subwoofers that can be used to replace E39 rear deck speakers. Please email me at jimk@cisco.com if interested. Asking $225 shipped.

Thanks,
Jim K.

Did these come from an M-5? I have a 2003 e-39 530 w/standard radio with 6 disc changer. No DSP. What will these subs do to the sound by replacing the rear deck speakers with these?

I am interested, but where did they come from and why are you selling? How old are they, and are they still functional?

Hi,

You get a nicer deeper bass according to this. Not sure if they work with non-DSP systems though. Here's a link that describes the installation procedures as well as more details about the sound:

Thanks!

From what I have read, swapping stock to M5 subwoofer won't work plug 'n play on non-DSP E39.

edit: I think that you need a new amp in order to use M5 subwoofers if you have non-DSP E39.

If they fit a 2000 540 with DSP, how much?

Ya,

I just sold the car yesterday and left the subs in with the sale.:D

DSP is the key, if you have they will work. the subs list for $187 each from BMW.
It will involve removing te rear package shelf.:yikes:
