are you satisfied w/ them?
i'm thinking about getting 235/35/19 & 255/35/19'a
after my abysmally loud Yokohama AVS ES100's i guess one of my priorities is having a relatively quiet tire; how are the F1's w/ respect to loudness? 2nd most important would be treadware, what have you noted so far?
i've read alot of the reviews on tirerack.com but was just wondering what forum member's experiences were. thanks.

If you searched, then you probably already read my thoughts.
Very good handling, quiet, but terrible treadwear; I got 7-8k out of my rears.

Got them around August and now im on snows so this is all from memory
They are quiet, very quiet. No where near as stiff sidewall wise as my Stock Dunlops. To be honest I was let down about that.
They grip really well though, that I have no complaints about. Mine seem to be wearing well, keep in mind I have less than 5K on them.
While im happy with them I wont buy them again. I also dont trust the reviews on Tire rack. The OEM tires on my car were great in fact they were better than great, the reviews seem to make them pale compared to the F1's and thats just not true. Gary even posted that he cant explain why OEM tired get beat up on reviews, might be that people are ticked that they need to replace tires on a new car?

I have had them on my 1999 Camaro SS for 2 years and love them. They are very quiet and have awesome grip on wet roads. They are definitely harder to break loose than the Bridgestones and Eagle F1's I had before. When my new 2005 M3 needs new tires, I will definitely get another set of GS-D3's.

A buddy of mine also put them on his 2002 M3 and seems very happy with them as well. He semi-pro races SCCA and is fairly picky about things like tire wear and performance.

For 99% of driving, OEM tires are fine, as are most tires.
It is in the other 1% of driving that you see the differences. I you tootle around corners, you will not see large gains with ANY tire, even R comps. If you push your car to the tires howling at all, that is when you will see differences.
About the only difference in handling you see on the street is turn in. The first car I put realy high performance street tires on, I almost cut the first corner I turned short by 3 feet due to quicker turn in.
You will notice noise and ride more than increased handling.

I have just put F1 GS D3 on my 545 and am having a hard time balancing. I suspect that I have a serous tire flat spotting problem.
