Wood grain cracked in cold weather

During the icestorm here in Atlanta I got about a half inch thick sheet of ice that completely covered the X5 for a day. Today when I got into the car two of the wood grain pieces (CD Player cover and Passenger side front door piece) had large cracks in them. :mad: Also, one of the PDC sensors is blocked or something because it makes a constant tone. Anyone else had trouble with cracking wood grain in freezing weather? I'd imagine this is covered under the factory warranty?

I took my X5 to the local car wash- pretty awesome place actually- all by hand with spray racks. Anyway, on the way into the garage I switched on the PDC and all the sensors were sounding pretty much. The water from the wash had frozen on the drive home at 3 degrees farenhaeit and when I snaped the ice off with a fingernail, they all worked fine again.

In my X5 the passenger door wood trim cracked just before I got rid of it. A friend of mine who drives an X5 had practically every piece of wood in the car crack.

The wood grain shift knob on my other BMW had cracked and the dealer replaced it under warranty. I would assume this would apply too.

Good news. Sounds like the PDC will be ok after it thaws and the dealer will replace the wood grain under warranty. Thanks for the responses.
