There have been very few reports on the KDW2's. Does anyone else have any experience with these tires?
I'm looking for something that will serve mostly for daily driving duty. I have the following preferences, most important first:
1) Must be "safe and fun" for a track school or two. That means smooth, predictible breakaway, even when hot. I'd also like for there to be some tire left after the event
2) Must have "decent" dry and wet grip. However, maximum performance is NOT a top requirement. I have separate autox wheels/tires.
3) Reasonable price.
4) Noise, comfort. Then again I drove on Azenis on the street for a while and didn't mind them, so...
I'm also thinking of getting PS2's, but they're pretty pricy. The KDW2's are almost $200 cheaper at tirerack.

I have a set mounted on wheels and ready to go for the new season...
but because of the weather I haven't even had a chance to drive on them yet. So in the basement they wait, for now :( Doesn't help you much, does it? :p
But what I can tell you is they are REALLY heavy. It's supposed to warm up a little this weekend, hopefully I can scrub 'em in a bit.

I will buying in the spring and would like to hear some feedback on these tires also. A set of four KDW2's are about 200-250 cheaper than the S03 or PS2.

Yeah, right now the 225's are on special for $129. The 255/40/17 are $146 ($20 cheaper than 245's  ) so I could get the whole combo for $550.
That's not bad.

Elbert, those tires look pretty good mounted on those wheels!! What sizes did you get?
I’m thinking of switching to 245/40/17 KDW2s for street and wet autox/HPDEs. I’ll continue to run the 245/40/17 KDs for dry autox/HPDEs. So I too am interested to hear how the KDW2s hold up in extreme wet conditions. Elbert, hurry up and get those babies mounted!! ;)

Yeah, they look pretty mean, very square sidewall/shoulder.
I got 245/40/18 and 255/40/18. I was going to get 265 and 275, but the wheels aren't wide enough.
I'll try to break them in this weekend, it's supposed to warm up a bit. Probably won't be able to say much about them until the first driving school (first weekend in March)
