I had snow tires put on the car today. Unfortunately, I had no say in which ones were put on. My mom took it upon herself to get me snow tires, without telling me or asking me which ones she should get. THe dealer put them on. They are Continental ContiWinterContact TS790, I believe... Any good?

Ouch!
I don't know about the quality of the tires, but I bet they paid a FORTUNE on them from the dealership.
Were they mounted on steel wheels, or did they swap the tires on your current wheels?

Tire comment edited. Iwas thinking of a different tire.
BTW, no offense, your parents seem to make a lot of questionable decisions. I'd be pretty annoyed if I were you.
Yeah, I was pretty annoyed... I also had no say in which rims they were mounted on. What they did was mount them on a set of the same style I had on the car... So now I have two sets of (I think) style 73s... If I had been involved, they would have mounted them on the wheels I had anyway... It just seems ridiculous to piss away a ton of money on a new set of rims and... whatever... Not my money, I'll let my parents do what they want. And desertnate, it WAS a fortune!

I had an older generation of the ContiWinterContacts on another car; I don't remember them being a bad tire. They are more like the LM-25s than the WS-50s in Blizzak terms. The performance winter tires don't have quite the same grip in the sloppy stuff as the WS-50s (which I use on the Touring), but they are much better than the all-season tires.
I have the style 79 wheels on the 330. I was able to buy a set used that I am using with the winter tires, some Semperit Sport-Grip winter tires that are working out fine (and your mom would really hate to know how little I got the tires for ;) )
