Hello everyone! I've been lurking around for a week or two and now have a question to ask...

Can someone please tell me where I can purchase silvervision bulbs? Cost? Website? Store?

My car docked at Port Hueneme today and should hopefully arrive at the dealership this Friday or Saturday! :D The wait has been awful! So I really hope there won't be any delays...crossing my fingers!

Anyway, you guys seem to have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the E46 so I'm glad I've found this place!

Cheers,
Erin

One source for silvervision bulbs is autolamps-online.com When I purchased them last June they were $23.50 per pair.

Congrats on joining the 'club'!

What are the specs on your car?

Just go out and buy Rustoleum high heat resistand silver paint and lightly coat your bulbs, it has the exact same effect as silversions and will save you $$.

does that really work? The paint won't flake off or anything? Hmmm...I might consider that...thanks for the suggestion!

because that's what I did to the bulbs in my rear clears.

However, the operative phrase is 'lightly coat'.

Unfortunately, I over did it when spraying the front bulbs with the effect that the amber color was very faint when illuminated or blinking.

I would recommend that you just go ahead and buy 2 sets of silvervision bulbs and be done with it.

Why skimp? 50 bucks is chump change when you just consider you dropped 30k for your 325CI.

Just my 2 euro's!

I bought mine from www.powerbulbs.com. The cost was around $38 for two pairs. They delivered them in about a week, free shipping.

I couldn't agree more with Mike above. Why take the chance and go through the aggravation of painting them to save a few lousy bucks? Certainly not worth it to me either! Go for it, you won't regret it!

$38 bucks? I can do that. I'll order them right now...

Next step is to actually GET the car  :p
4 days and counting!

For those of you that don't have Xenons, the VisionPlus bulbs are IMO an improvement over the OE bulbs. I changed mine last week and we have been having some snowy, rainy and slopppy weather for the last few days and I have noticed a difference. Worth the money.

Just my €0.06 worth :D

Has anyone found replace bulbs for the OE fog lamps that are better than stock? Just wondering. The stock lamps suck IMHO.

I painted mine with silver Rustoleum high heat resistent spray paint over a year ago and no problems. I wasn't skimping on the $50 but I did not want to wait while the Silvervisions were on backorder - patience is not one of my virtues!

Neither place lists the E46 as a choice?

I had to send a message to their online help feature (info@autolamps-online.com) and validate that the part # I needed (12496SV) would be an acceptable replacement for my vehicle.

Hope this helps!

Damn, I didn't even check when I bought mine! Bought mine without even thinking about it, but they fit just fine.

I wonder if the fronts are the same as for the rears? Just being dumb here, but I would suspect they are the same.
