Does anybody know of a good mechanic to go to in the San Diego area? The dealers are charging an arm and a leg for service. I know it's better to go to them, but I'm low on funds and need to get my car fixed.

Thanks in advance!

Going to the dealer is not necessarily better (depends very much on the dealer). Check out La Jolla Independent, one of the better know BMW repair shops:

So I got my car fixed.. I went to Rancho Auto & Transmission Center. I'm very happy with the work they did. Got my car fixed in a day and it's driving perfectly fine now! I would recommend them to people in the San Diego - East County area.
