I'm looking to buy an E30, 325is, and after test driving a few of them, Man, those cars makes my 323i feels big and heavy. The steering, clutch, brake feels so much lighter to operate on my 00 323i.
And I think the E30 handles better with stock shocks/springs/sways, I wonder what it will feel like after installing after market parts.
Now I know why there are so many 325is on the autox.
and those M20 motor, even with 200+ miles on them it still pulls very strong. I sure hope my motor lasts that long.

I owned an 88 325is for about 2 yrs. Autocrossed it in the BMWCCA. Had H&R springs, bilstein sport shocks, camber plates, and Kumho Ecsta V700 autocross tires.
Now I autocross my 330i ZHP w/ Hoosier A3S04 autocross tires.
My times are nearly identical.

I have my eyes on 1989 E30 325IS Alpina for over a year now. The current owner got it as a hand me down from his brother and uncle. The condition is excellent. Original paint and original motor. Anyhow, I drove it and felt in love right on the spot. While I will keep my ZHP as a daily driven and track, 325is will be my weekend project and fun car. The problem is, he doesn't want to sell it...yet.

the '89 is the best one IMO... plastic bumper, non-airbag. throw alpina into the mix and you got a winner.

I am also looking for a 325is. I will like to get a 91 but I will take a 89 or 90. Are their any difference in the 89 through 91 325is.
