I was looking at pics of the ESS S/C kit. Can someone try to explain why it's so expensive? I mean, the parts don't look that complicated so I'm guessing there is a large profit margin and/or the R&D costs in designing it is quite high.

I'm also curious if it would be possible to build a weak S/C (with say ~2psi boost) for a few hundred bucks?

i consider the cost as pretty reasonable. they've managed to crack the OBD-2 drive-by-wire code (biggest roadblock to dinan (who won't make one, by the way), ERT, and racemarque blowers), they include injectors, the blower and all of the mounting equipment.

i wish i knew how much one of those vortech units cost, because they would answer your question, wouldn't it?

i love the blower on my m coupe, so if esstuning's package turns out to be reliable, am sure i will put it on our 325xiT.
