Hi,
Can i fit a E46 steering wheel directly onto my '93 E36 coupe. I realise that the airbag and radio buttons etc won't work but if i pick up a wheel from a scrappy will it 'bolt' straight onto the column without modification.
cheers,
talisman
Wheels off of '99 and '00 E46s should work with some minor modification for the horn wire (nothing to do with the airbag). I know they work on later E36s and I'm not aware of any system changes over the life of the E36.
As far as strictly connecting to the column, undoubtedly. I suspect every BMW produced in the last 15 years has the same column diameter and splines to attach to.
This isn't exactly what you are looking for, but it might help:

Remember, you need a matching airbag module as well.

I check with the BMW dealer. E46 will not fit on the E36. I try... Good luck
