Hi,

After spending months trying to fix my duff offside electric window motor for my e36 iS coupe i have bitten the bullet and bought a new one(window motor that is Laughing.)
Is there a walk through or can anyone give me hints (a double check really before i start) on how to set it up correctly so that the window seals properly when the door is shut. I only needed the motor as the regulator is fine and i have drilled out the rivets to remove it and it'll go back no problem. I also got new regulator clips.

TIA,

talisman

I ordered a new window motor for my '97 328is from www.rockauto.com for $90 something plus core. The previous owner had taken the old motor out and had put a worm clamp in to hold the window up. Anyhow, swapping the motor was fairly simple since the PO had already removed the rivets. The problem I have now is a grinding noise when the window is moved. Anyone have a clue? I haven't taken it apart since the noise yet to see what is up. Is there an allignment procedure that I missed? I don't have a service manual as of yet.

Thanks!
