When I open my right side door the window will not drop the inch to clear the top, and the dome light will not go on. I worked on it one day, pulled the panel off and sprayed a little WD-40 on the lock parts and switch, at the same time I sprayed the drivers door latching area. Now neither doors will the window roll down when you open them and the dome light will not work when the door is open. What can I do to fix the problem or do I have to replace the locking latches? HELP!

Just a shot in the dark, but maybe it's a bad fuse? Can you roll down the windows without problem?

This sounds like it could be two different issues.

The light not going on/off could be a fuse.

The window not dropping an inch is likely a mechanical issue. My windows went from dropping about 3/4 of an inch to barely a few millimeters. I havent taken the time to take the doors apart to diagnose the problem.

Also, WD-40 is a solvent that cleans parts and disperses water. It does not lubricate. So, any part that should be lubricated and you sprayed with WD-40 need to be relubricated.

Id check the fuses and make sure all of the internal parts of the door are in line as they should be and lubricate them per the service manual.

Sorry I can be of more help.

I tried all the fuses, all good. Everything works fine on there own, windows, dome light, just not when you open the door. Does anyone know where to buy the cheepest part for our money pits?

It's probably the door switch. Look at your right side door latch that is on the b-pillar. If you look closely at the latch, you will see a tiny black switch. When the door closes, it presses this switch closed. When you open the door, the switch opens which tells the car to drop the window a bit and turn on the timed dome light.

Locate the pass side switch and press it a few times to see if it does anything. Verify that the driver's side switch works as intended. To replace the switch you have to replace the whole latch. Good luck.
