View Full Version : Has anyone tried Michelin Hydroedge tires?
I am just curios because it has great revs at Tirerack.com.

Due to the catagory TireRack lists them under and since they are T rated, I doubt they would be much fun to drive on. I would put them on my parent's Buick, but not my BMW.

Well put. These are for the less-aggressive drivers who don't value handling/cornering and road feel as much as they need a quiet, soft riding and long lasting tire.
Do you also keep your tires in those heated wrappings overnight so that your tires are always kept at appropriate temperature levels ready for you to hit those HW with 60 MPH limitations.

Yes, and we also only use special ZHP canned air to refill our tires. ;)

Are you serious?
Around here we have 70~75MPH posted speed limits. :dunno:
Speed being traveled isn't the overall reason for not going with a T rated A/S tire. The side walls are going to be much softer which means steering feel is going to be less, turn in/steering response is going to be slower, and the ride is going to be much softer/spongy that a more performance oriented tire. The rubber compound is going to be MUCH harder and thus won't provide nearly the same level of grip.
So, as Gary said, if you want a soft comfortable tire which will last forever, this may be for you. If you are a more performance oriented driver like 90% of us here, this tire wouldn't come even close to meeting your needs. You can still enjoy the fantastic engineering of a BMW at legal/mildy illegal speeds in the US. This tires won't get you there...they will give up LONG before the car would.

I can hit the limits of a racing compound tire below 60MPH quite easily.
If you're serious about buyign these, please just sell your car.
