What is "Sattelite Radio Prep"

My new X3 is about a week away from delivery. My salesperson threw in "sattelite radio prep" for me when we ordered the car. Now that I have done a bit of research, I think I screwed myself with this decision. He told me that it just adds some wiring that would cut the cost of the sattelite radio install by about $300 should I choose to go that route in the future. Now it appears as if this "option" may have cost me the ability to add the iPod interface.

Does anyone have some facts for me as to what exactly this option did and if it limits my ability to add on the iPod?

I'm glad you posted this.
I'm building all of my cars with the satelite prep just in case I get into it in the next three years.
I am however, currenlty into the iPod and have to have it in my new car.

I'm going to check with my dealer. they should have a disclaimer if this indeed prohibits you from getting the iPod adapter.
