hi,

i own a e36 325i and am having problems with my sunroof. as i've just put 3.5k into the car, i am not crazy about taking it back to the bmw dealer in fear of what it could cost.

my (electric) sunroof (not moonroof) opens UP but when trying to slide it back, it stops after just a couple of inches or so....Almost as if something got stuck in it. This happened from one minute to the next - so that didn't happen

Is it the sunroof motor? Do I have to get the dealer to repair it and about what could it cost??

check the plastic pins that are located on either side of the sunroof. They are a pain!!

check out this link. let me know if you have any questions. Is a job that it can be done. Time consuming por cheaper that $70.00 per hour at the dealer.

good luck

there is also a way to open and close the sunroof manually in emergencies. you pop off the top cover where the button is to open it, it's in you owners manual.

Hello,

I've got the same problem, but mine is when i use the remote control the sunroof tilt and stayed there.

I was told is the total clolure module, but could not find the part for it, if you can help, the part no is 82 91 9 401 880.

That is insane mate! the best thing I could think of is just replacing your security system.
