I recently purchased Bridgestone Potenza RE750, 225/40/18, mounted on Style #71 replica wheels for my 2004 330Cic. They replaced factory Goodyears with 2,000 miles on them, mounted on factory 330 17" wheels. As soon as I pulled out of the tire dealership I noticed the car was very hard to steer.

Is it because of the tire brand and model, or because the tire is wider, or because of the replica wheels? I didn't notice that the new wheels & tires were any heavier than the stock ones when I put them in another vehicle. I know each Bridgestone/Wheel #71 weighed 57 lbs. when they were shipped via FedEx.

I love the look of the new wheels & tires, but the steering is noticably harder.

Check the tire pressure. I'll bet it's low. I always have to pump up my tires after having the car serviced or new ones put on. For some reason the dealership loves to f&$% with my tire pressure setting!

You'll notice more steering effort is needed with wider tires, but I wouldn't say it's a huge difference. I had a set of RE-750's on my 5'er for a little while. I'd say pump them up to 38psi or so and see what you think. They're nice tires!
