Need mounting - what equipment to ask for?

It's almost time to order some new tires. I need to find a shop that will not scratch the rim and do an excellent job of balancing the tires - hopefully without paying a fortune. What questions do I need to ask? I assume road force balancing is what I'm after? What about the machine to mount the tires?

Also, if anyone has specific recommendations for the Detorit area, please throw them out there.
