I started getting a wheel vibration at 80mph and really coming on strong about 90mph. However, it was not consistent. It would vary in frequency and intensity. Someitmes it would almost disappear; then the shake would become severe.
The tire shop found two (2) pothole bent rims. The fact that two were involved explained the variable nature of the problem. At different times the two independent vibrations were more [or less] in a resonant pattern with each other
The shop straghtened out the 16x7.0 star spoke wheels on my 325xit. Wheel straightening was $75 per wheel. So much for getting any Low Profile wheels in NYC!
I am running 34 front and 38 rear. Would more or less pressure help prevent bent rims?
