...besides, they obviously can't sell (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4525921362&category=43989&sspagename=WDVW) for US$5k... I've seen them around for US$3k...

Actually, based on auctions like this:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=30921&item=7952863215&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
(That probably isn't a modic v3, but still...)
My offer doesn't sound completely ridiculous....
I can paypal $1k + $100 for shipping immediately........:)

Guys, the one on Ebay is not a MODIC, sorry. It is a Multitech generic product, that uses codes and it is not the real thing.
I have seen it been advertised on some magazines, but it is not the real thing.
The original MODIC III it is the one Main dealer's use. It has all the software for:
1. DIAGNOSTICS
2. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS
3. PROGRAMMING
With programming I mean that you can program everything, from Alarm to Angel eyes, to Convertible top, to ECU.
Please note that although the computer has all the software pre-installed, i cannot supply the original CD's.

No ZHP? What's the ZHP have to do with car/key memory programming and such?

I was referring to DIAGNOSTIC mode. Not ZHP there.
Only 330i.

And I know what;s worth guys, come on. But, as soon as the new GT1(!!!!) unit comes along, this will be useless.

Aren't the GT1s already in use by dealers?

Yeap, who said anything about a dealer? this is a private seller selling it(specialist shop).
Even specialist shops if they have good connections with a main dealer, can get these things.
GT1s have been used for some time by main dealers....much faster to work than a MODIC.

Does the MODIC 3 come with the diagnostic Head?
Would you ship to the UK?

I dont mean to be rude but you can buy a brand new GT1 from centrallettershop for $18,000 and your asking $16000 for a Modic 3!
a modic 3 with diagnostic head and all cables is probably worth around €2,500

Are your batteries ok? you know, the ones that are on the modic, not the docking station. These often go bad and need replacement. there is one that can be replaced on the front right side, and one that you cannnot see it that is at the right side, inside the Modic. You have to unscrew a cover in order to see that one.

Yeap , it was pretty steep. Ebay is a good idea, but I am not a member of ebay, so I wonder if there is a problem of having an online auction here in bimmerfest?:dunno:
Obviously, bimmerfest will have no liability whatsoever.
