I spoke to the manager at the dealer today and he worked out an allocation trade with another dealer. Therefore, I get to "order" what I want on the car but don't have the typical 2-3 month wait!:D :D :D

He said it should arrive in about 2 1/2 weeks! I couldn't believe that. Does that seem too soon. The dealer is in Hilton Head, SC which is about 1 hour from the Charleston, SC port. Should that make a difference?

The sales guy has been great (Ralph Bell @ Hilton Head Automotive) so far. We've only dealt on the phone but he has been great so far. I highly recommend him up to this point in the process.

I get my Production # or VIN tomorrow. I can't wait!!!!!:D :D :D :D

my guess is that the other dealer already had a car in production that matches your specs. The dealers trade. Everyone wins.

The waiting is definitely the hardest part, but all good things come to those who are patient.

Yeah, I know I just handed you a load of hooey, but it's the same thing that was handed down to me when I ordered.

Consider it a rite of initiation.

Welcome to the club:):):):)

Yup, that would be it...

I think Clyde has "nailed it". 2-3 weeks seems too fast to order, produce and ship a car that hasn't already been ordered. The other dealer must have ordered the car that met your specs. Of course, you could just be that damn lucky...

It must be a trade for something already in stock... it takes 30 days (east coast) to 40 days (west coast) just for the car to make it across the pond... and two weeks for them to build it.

But whatever the case may be, congrats!
