I found these on CMA's newsletter might be worth trying... only $34.95 for a set of 4.

I found these for $12 each. http://www.trucknvans.com/Universal_Black_Vinyl_Tire_Cover_p/cm02.htm Like I said, I didn't get tire covers at all because I don't know if they will fit.

That one will still have one side of the tire open since it's made to put put over a tire that is already bolted to an external spare tire carrier.
Raffi is looking for something like the tire tote but that has an extra panel on each side that closes so the tire is completely enveloped as it will not be bolted to anything during transport.

Yeah, I ordered them online when I got back from the track on Sunday 'cause I had to pick up rims from Blaine. I got them yesterday and was gonna mention the price to you, but since I figured you already bought them that it wasn't worth the aggravation to you. After taxes and shipping, I think that I only saved about $18 compared to what you paid.

just remember that most people will have the tire mounted on the wheel and the open middle area means you'll be rubbing brake dust off onto everything they come in contact with unless you bag them first :dunno:

that's what makes me hesitate getting them.

Oh well, it's just 20 bucks. I probably won't get off my @ss to get them online if I didn't get them at the track.

I wipe down the rims quickly first, then put a tarp on the back seats and put the tires on them. So far so good... though my seats are black, so I wouldn't be able to tell.
Speaking of which, I got sand leatherette in my new car... damnit.

I bag mine anyways, but it's not like I have to carry them 500 yards or anything so I personally don't see the need :dunno: even then, I use the HD black construction bags which can handle the weight

Exactly - my issue is not only with the dust, but the horrible burned rubber and brake pad smell on the drive back. Hence I got a trailer! :D

When I autocross, I have to throw the tires in the back seat. The tire totes look like a good deal, but I'd like to play with a set (I suppose for the price they are almost disposable if I don't like them). I'm very close to just buying the BMW back seat protector:

BMW P/N 52-20-9-415-364
$135+$15 shipping from PacificBMW.

just go to Home Depot and get the black contractor 55 gallon garbage bags :dunno: I think you get 20 for $8 or something, much thicker than the typical trash bag, each bag lasts a season easy, when I swap them out I just use the old ones for trash, etc.

 almost pwn3d, you should be storing your race tires in sealed bags anyways for maximum life and performance :p
btw, they are 42 gallon bags, not 55 gal, and they are 3 mil thick
I saw a box of 32 for $10 in Costco today
