I'm running a 2004 330xi with stock 205/50/17's.

Do you think the gap between the tire and the fender would be perceived as smaller if I ran 225/40/18x8.5's for summers? I'm not ready for a suspension change with a drop yet.

Appreciate any opinions.

Actually, it will be just the opposite... more wheel + less sidewall = MORE perceived gap.. That is why people lower their cars when they go to a bigger diameter wheel..
