We didn't get an *official* count per se.

Cliff, would you mind posting the 3-D map of the Bimmerfest Road Rally Route in a separate thread?

Jon, how do you account for those who are not driving (me flying into LAX)? Are you using the "model" of the car, which is "denotes required field" for cars in attendant? If so, that would not be accurate.

Jon, off-the-wall thought: With the crowds that are expected, have the planners thought about hiring a paramedic team to have on hand for anything that happens?

We always have a pair of 'em at my son's Jr. Peewee football games -- standard practice for the PAL league. The same sort of thing is usually in play at Country Fairs and other large events. There are enough people attending bfest, and enough chaos and confusion, that hiring a couple of off-duty paramedics to be there on standby might be a good idea...

We have never had a problem and nothing we do is a risk to our healths at Bimmerfest, except overeating at the BBQ. I don't know about anyone else, but local FD is only a call away. I am a certified Firefighter/EMT and I've never needed it at Bimmerfest. It isn't an issue.

I hope all 134 of those plain jane E46's dont plan on trying to get space in the lot.
Was there not something mentioned for like super stock cars to park elsewhere, or was this just me?

Nope, not just you. I have a feeling there will be more cars than space, so it was suggested that the owners of bone stock recent/current models (they know who they are :D ) defer to parking in the areas near the dealership (Hitchcock Way, Hope Ave. and Le Cumbre shopping center).

The obvious advantage they'll have is getting out easier for the road rally and getting the spots near the top of the on ramp at Refugio Road. :)

Here are the questions and answers from that thread (Jon's answers begin with >>):

• Date and times
(Is there a car show contest, if so when is registration, the cost, how long must the car remain in place, etc.

>> The event will be held on Saturday April 23rd, and begins at 9:00 a.m. There is no formal registration process for the car show. All cars parked on the lot are open to consideration. Suggest arriving on time when the gates open to park on the lot.

• A event map floorplan and parking information
(If the dealer's lot fills up and late arrivals have to park their cool cars 1/4 mile away where no one will see them, then what'ts the point of even going?

>>There is an extensive list of tuner's and vendor's vehicle that will be worthwhile to see on display. In addition to the dealership the adjacent Hope Ave., and Hitchcock Way can accomodate overflow with free parking within a 5 minute walk. If that fills up, La Cumbre Plaza is within a 5 minute walk as well and has ample parking available for overflow.

• The BMW dealer's small lot should be reserved for Contest or show cars, ONLY, not stock street cars that arrive there first. yes?).
Then a separate specific parking area should be reserved for the other cars which is close by and people can hang out in as well and talk about their cars.

>> The dealership facility in Santa Barbara is one of the most amazing in the United States. Designed by one of the premier architects in the nation with the sole purpose of showing off exotic automobiles it offers something a little bit more to the atmosphere of the event than some giant asphalt parking lot would. I agree that ideally, only modified or special interest/show cars should park on the lot. This includes rare BMW's, Classics, "M" cars, ...etc. However, it is not really possible for us to enforce this rule. There is an obvious tradeoff given the location of the event. Unfortunately, we're not in L.A. or Long Beach. We don't have a convention center approach to Bimmerfest.

Hope this helps,
--Jon

I've just registered but there is no provision to register my M5 Touring so I've had to register it simply under E 34 M5.
And yes it is one of the 891 made Vin ...BL01398 prod 10/92 Daytona Violet and I imported it from Italy and federalized it.
Is there any way I can edit my registration??

Jon,
I'm a bit confused. Last year I was bone stock (2001 330I) This year I've donne a few mods 19' Hammans (H2's), M-Technic Front end, AC Shcnitzer Side Mirrors, Alpine Flip Screen (DVD) JL Amps and Speakers etc.... It definitely does not compare to the M-3's parked on the grass last year or Show car material, but I thought I would be able to progress a little. What is the down and dirty??? Where do I get to park???? Please advise.
