From one life-long BMW entusiast to another, you are looking at an excellent vehicle. This car has seen only 92,000 miles, and you can tell by looking at it. The paint has a wonderful luster, and the interior is brand new in appearance. Unlike several older BMWs, the dash as well as the rest of the interior are first rate. Everything fits well and looks clean. The original BMW carpeted floor mats are clean, and the car has a custom BMW leather shift knob (not pictured above) and a matching beige armrest installed.

This car is a 318i sedan. It has the M42 engine which is a gem. While it is not as powerful as a 6 cylinder, it is quick revving, providing quick acceleration and effortless cruising power. The five speed transmission is very precise, it isn't sloppy like several higher-mileage cars. The clutch still has plenty of life in it, and it is a very forgiving car to drive, especially for someone with little experience with manual transmissions. The car also has the optional Limited Slip Rear Differential.

Everything on the car is up to date. A full Inspection II was done in January when the car had 88,000 miles, and along with that the following items were replaced: thermostat, all drive belts, vaccuum hoses and the muffler. All the work on the car was done by the shop foreman at the local BMW dealership. The early M42/M44 engines were known for bad profile gaskets that can cause a coolant leak, and as far as my dealer tells me, the gasket was replaced back in 1996 when the car had just over 50,000 miles. I can provided documentation if requested.

To the buyer will go two sets of relatively new tires. The current set are Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires mounted on the original alloys. They were put on in June and have under 1000 miles on them. The second set were purchased in December and are Michelin Arctic Alpin snow tires. They have under 4000 miles on them.

The car is available for viewing in Warwick, RI. This is a clean example of a newer E30. The mileage is very low, and if the right person buys the car, it can provide another 11 years of trouble-free driving. The asking price is 5,200, but I will consider all reasonable offers. I am not in a rush to sell the car, so I will not entertain lowball offers.

Thank you for your time!

The new car is a replacement for the 323, I am selling the 318 because it just doesn't get that much use anymore and I feel it is foolish to have an 11 year old car just sitting there. The car is in great shape now, but if I just let it sit around I am asking for trouble. My 18 year old son has been driving it for the past few months, but he is off to Brown in the fall and can not have a car during his first year, so to let it sit in the driveway for a year, I am promising myself an number of costly repairs down the road. Cars like these are not meant to sit unused for a year!

Did you sell the car already?
I like it so if you still have it, I can give you a meaningful offer.
