Those of us who took delivery of our new X3's this winter had a chance to open up that large sunroof for the first time, with temps. today in the Northeast pushing 50 degrees. I was surprised how uncomfortable the noise is at speeds around 40 MPH. It sounded like the woofer in my HT system clipping when I turn up the volume too high. Anyone else have a take on this?

The air comes in and has nowhere to go, so you get that buffeting effect. It is similar to rolling down the front windows by themselves.

Just crack the rear windows to help the air flow through the vehicle.

You get the same effect from basically any sunroof with all the windows closed

I haven't had a car yet that I liked to run at highway speeds with the sunroof open. Too noisy. I don't expect the X3 to be any different.
Around town now, that's a different story.
