Does anyone know where I can buy a cargo net that fits X3 3.0i (I have those chrome hooks that attach to the bike rails on 3.0) ? BMW wants $79 for a cargo net which is ridiculous.

I am glad they are a sponsor, just ordered one from them. Hope it works well.

off topic - but wondered. Did you have to buy the chrome hooks or did they come with the SAV? I have the rails but not the hooks.

The hooks are under the cover in the tray next to the battery. Or, they should be!

That's where mine are also.

Thanks for the info. When I took delivery the salesman spent 99% setting up the BMW assist program, and I haven't really had a chance to discover the trunk contents...

My cargo net arrived today. Installation was piece of cake. Here are couple of pictures.

Observations:
It seems to be a generic cargo net not really made for BMW. The fit was not "factory like". It's a little too big for X3. I had to move chrome hooks all the way out to make it fit (see pic). Quality seems to be OK. But for 1/2 the price BMW charges, I guess it's OK.

On the plus side, delivery was very fast. I got it in 2 days.

For those who want to get it for yourself, here is a link to their ebay store:

well that sucks

I think I may have ordered the one for X5 instead of X3. They were all the same prices .. should've checked more carefully .

I am going to try contact their customer service and see if I can get it swapped out.

I'm sure thats what it is if you ordered from Ebay. Im sure you got the X5 net. I went ahead and just ordered from their website, it was only $2.00 more and I got the exact one. They didnt have any X3 nets listed on ebay.

Guys, maybe a dumb question, but is the cargo net really useful?

Guys, maybe a dumb question, but is the cargo net really useful?

For example, this weekend the wife and I went grocery shopping and I drive kinda rough and the groceries were thrown all over the place. Even if I didnt drive crazy the crap still would of fallen out of the bags etc... When I bought the car last week I traded my wife's old honda and I had to throw all of her crap from the honda in the back of the X3 and crap kept getting tossed all around. It was annoying on how loud it was getting when the crap was getting tossed from side to side on my 80 mile drive back home from the dealer.

So for me it will be useful to cover whatever I had sitting in the back.

If you ever carry heavier items in the rear hatch that are not secured, they can turn into deadly projectiles if you experience a sudden involuntary rapid deceleration, otherwise known as an accident. No joke, and the cargo cover will do very little to help in a serious impact. A cargo net will do the job.

I got my cargo net today(saturday). Man this thing shipped quick from CA to GA. This is a nice net and identical to what BMW sales for double. I used it today after grocery shopping and also securing some boxes in the back. Very handy. Glad I bought it!
