I was wondering if anyone is interested in the following:

BMX Action magazines: '82 - '85 excellent condition, in plastic

Thrasher magazine: '85 - '89 good condition

Transworld Skateboarding: '85 - '89 good condition

Let me know and we can work something out.

Redline, like the bikes, huh? Those '82 models were dope with those oversize downtubes :)

I'll take inventory of exactly what I have and we can work out a price.

Hey Kaz,

you remember what, the Redline bikes or the various mags? :) I think you posted a while ago about the tracker/indy wars, right?

Trackers with copers, that was cool. I use Indys to this day.

As a teen I worked for Redline bicycles. Remember Redline 3-piece cranks?

Yea, I'm getting back into BMX at the age of 37. I went out to a local track that I raced at back in the early 80's this past weekend and it was pretty happening. There were a couple of guys that I raced way back that have recently started back. BMX has changed a lot in 20 years as far as bike geometry and handling. I'm going to buy a 24" Redline cruiser, then when I get comfortable, get back to the 20" bikes.

As for the magazines, I used to have all of them. I would love to have them again......let me know something. Thanks.

Remember Redline 3-piece cranks?

They still make them and really have not changed in 20 years. They are the best.

Wow, this brings back memories... mostly about flipping through these mags, because there was no way my friends or I could afford most of this stuff at the time, though we knew some guys with 'warm' Torkers or ex-factory custom-sized GTs.

mmm...

Redline cranks
MX brakes
Uniseats
Rotor stems
GT sealed bearing hubs

I did an evening paper route on my Huffy Pro Thunder III for 1.5 years to save up for my Hutch Expert Racer :) I still have that bike... I'll post a pic. I raced at the Orange YMCA track, I think it was '83 or so.

Tracker copers were so cool, they attached with those plastic rings. Then I switched to Thunder trucks... you remember, they were the punk rock trucks... Natas Kaupas, Jesse Martinez (Santa Monica Airlines). I did have a set of Ventures, but I think I must have had 8 or 9 sets of Thunders. No Gullwings.

Redline / All Y'all,

Here's the BMX Mags (http://www.dealsavvy.tv/bmw-web/index.htm)

BMX Action, Freestylin, Bicycles & Dirt, BMXA '84 Calendar, ABA Number Plate issued to me at the Orange, CA YMCA track back in '83.

About half the collection is wrapped in plastic, the other half, well, isn't. This is what I think happened: I had a paper route back in '82-'83 or so, and was given plastic bags to use on rainy days (so the papers wouldn't get wet). I used those bags to store the BMX mags. After I quit the paper route, no more plastic bags... I'm surprised that (at twelve) I had the forethought to use the plastic bags to keep the mags safe from the elements.

I haven't seen those mags in probably 20 years. As I was snapping the covers, I remembered them pretty clearly. Those were great times. Hardly any traffic, crime, problems...

Cool thing is, I used to skate Upland/Pipeline in '87-'88 and remember seeing Eddie Fiola there.

I found all the Thrashers and Transwords... I'll post those covers next week or so. I also found about five years worth of Hot VW's, a bunch of '80's era Car & Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, and CAR from the UK. I guess I was quite the periodical addict. I'm gonna sell all of it, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Mark, Are you in the buisness selling collectable stuff? If so, you're probably going to want more than I'm willing to pay for those mags. I've been doing some research and BMX Action's are rare indeed.

I'm not into collecting rare things for profit. I'm just a BMX nut that's kicking himself in the butt for throwing away all his BMX mags years ago.

I'd be willing to give $150.
