(Xenon adaptive lights with clear corners)

So, if you decide later on that you'd like to install the Xenon adaptive headlights in your X3 that has just standard halogens, is that an option? Is it a major install procedure, and do more wires need to be routed, or is it as simple as getting the adaptive headlights and plugging them in? I just tried a quick search for information, but didn't come up with any previous threads specifically on retrofitting.

I know it is not a "plug & play" situation. You have to get an adapter from www.UMNITZA.COM & then go to the dealer to have the car programmed for Xenon lights.

yes, woody is correct, a wire adapter and dealer programing is all you need, I have my stock Xenons on Ebay right now because I bought the Euro clears. I later found out that the euro clears are the same as the US version, only difference is the clear piece inside the housing instead of the amber piece. If you know someone in europe, they can order just the clear piece, and you can take the housings apart and swap it with the amber piece, and youre done for a lot less money!!

One more thing...just making sure I clearly understand...with the wire adapter and dealer programming, not only will the Xenons work (in an X3 configured with standard halogens), but the adaptive auto-leveling feature would also work/be enabled?

That is a good question. I think the auto leveling sensor is part of the standard steering angle sensor? :dunno: MPoWeRMAN may no the answer to this.

as far as I know, you will not get the adaptave or auto leveling feature, on a car with stock xenons, the auto leveling magnets are mounted in the rear of the car I think, so if you dont have xenons to begin with, there would be a lot of retrofitting to do, and I think the adaptave feature has to do with the steering, so once again, if its not stock, it would be too hard to retrofit after the fact, and as far as the bmw item number of my xenons on ebay, the number is listed in the ad, just search bmw x3 and you will find the ad
