Nice having an e34 specific section. It's a good time to say that radiator #4 is going in this weekend...grrrrr. Let's see, 156,000 miles, that's 52,000 miles for each one so far. Maybe this one will do better (Nissens).

Didn't realize that radiators are a problem area on E34s. My 88 E24 appears to still be on its original radiator at 103k, and are known to last forever.

i replaced mine at ~100k miles. i tightened down the clamp too much and cracked the neck, only reason why i replaced mine.

Mine had started leaking down the side where the plastic meets the core. The upper and lower necks had held up well (couldn't determine what brand it was). Replacement was easy, didn't even remove the fan, job took about three hours including flushing the entire cooling system until clear. I went to a BMWCCA drivers course the next weekend and everything performed flawlessly.
