mileage, condition, maintenance history, engine condition.
The rule of thumb is that an E30 M3 will cost you at least $15K. If the car costs less, you will make up the difference in getting things right.

J/K. Depends on mileage, condition, color combo, maintenance, etc. but count on spending 15K if you want an average price for a clean M3 that needs nothing.

and weighing all that in, it would likely be $8k - $25k though there are exceptions on both ends
