I got around to wash and Zaino my car finally (after almost 3 months). It should stay sunny for another 4 days...:D
But the point was to take a few pics of the M3 Lightweights with S-03 and update my signature.
They didn't really turn out great - the rims look much better in person...
JP, be gentle on these - took them in a rush. Will make better ones in the Spring. :D

Very nice,
but what the hell is that TREE behind the car. How old and tall is that thing!
Aren't those wheels supposed to have 'MOTORSPORT' or something cast into that flat ring area?
I've always liked those, but IMO, they 'belong' better on a E36.
Those valve caps negate the "lightweight" benefit of those rims. :)
Looks real nice though. I gotta get me some S-03s... only problem is I'll end up wanting to get 5, so I can have a spare S-03.

Very very nice. You have a beautiful ride. Thank you for sharing a few pictures.

Nice car! What are you going to do with the stock wheels?

I think BMW dropped "Motorsport" casting on the wheels on later models... BMW should have made M68's trully staggered (deeper rear dish) and polished instead of painted. These rims stay cleaner much longer.
Yeah, valve caps are heavy, but worth at least 10hp. :D
Alee, man you are obsessed. hehehehe
These kind of trees are all over OR. This one is actually rather small. :D
Keeping the old rims for the track - will put R compounds on them later.

Akakubi,
How do you like the mudflaps? Posted a q to JIO and he was less than enthusiastic about them due to debris and water getting behind the flaps. Love our winter weather:(

They got clogged so badly that the dirt was all the way to the top of the flaps and started to rattle under the weight.
Somebody very "smart" designed them hollow and in a way that half of the hole is exposed to the elements. The tiny drain outlets are useless.
I would not put them on again. :(
Wagon's however have a better fit, according to Kaz. But the Coupe's are not good...
I am so glad we don't have snow/salt in the city or it would be a nightmare.

Akakubi, looks great!
Car looks great! I prefer the Type 68s to those by far. Those are my least favorite Motorsport rims :(

Those rims look like what they're using on the SLK32

Those are my driving shoes. :D
Very nice! Love those wheels! Your car's almost too beautiful to track! I'll get some DOT-R shoes on my M68 and new daily rims with S03's after a few more schools. My stock 330Ci runs around the track pretty good right now, even with the Conti's, track tires won't be neccessary until I get a lot better.

I also spent the whole last season thrashing my Conti's. In October during the last session of the year they finally started to give way in the wet... But in the dry they were not bad.
Now in the same street corners S-03's feel way way more sticky - I am yet to see DSC kick in in the dry. I don't really want to push too hard yet while still breaking them in. I also noticed that when exiting a corner the car literaly lurches forward like from a sling shot. :D
Have you considered a set of sway bars? This single mod still makes me grin in every corner. Your car will be way more planted on the track.

DSC kicks in even when road is dry when I don't pay enough attention and over-throttled... conti's... haha!
i don't plan on modifying my car much, coz hopefully i won't have to track this thing for long. I don't like the throttle response of my car, DBW combined with Steptronic (torque converter i guess) makes it very unpredictable around corners, almost dangerous some time...
my car is awesome to drive to work and to drive my girlfriend around town, but it's just not that suitable for the tracks...

an SMG M3 coming your way soon? hehehe :D
Can you disable DBW by holding DSC button for 10sec?

I thought it was that differential braking gimmick. :D
Yeah, I drove Step in manual mode and it would still upshift by itself near the redline. Too bad it won't hold the gear... :(
I heard that SSG/SMG will be available on the regular 3 series in '03.
