I made an extremely quick visit to Bimmerfest 2005...basically, I played hooky from work for about 4 hours, because I knew what I was running on the computer would take a looooong time :eeps:

After, all, what's 140 miles one-way in The Ultimate Driving Machine?

BMW I Most Wanted To Drive Home With: The KarToyz black 645i; oh, man, that was niiiiice! I kept coming back to it, massively coveting it.

Bimmer With The Most Memorable Passenger: The white police Bimmer with the inflatable doll wearing a "I'm Rick James' Bitch" T-Shirt. :p

The M3's were so tasteful...less "Pimp My Ride" and more in harmony with the rest of the cars.

It was also good to see the venerable 2002's and Old School Sharks - these both have aged well. It's fascinating to see the evolution of BMW engines over time.

The Gemini Space Capsule Claustrophobia Award goes to the F1; the gentleman from the team was so nice to answer my highly uniformed questions: "Is that large scoop thing an air intake manifold?" "Is there a model that uses a paddle shift?"

I couldn't stay for the Road Rally; let's just say that (er, chpahoy, you won't tell any of your colleagues this :eeps: ) that I got back to The Land Of Bovine Living from Santa Barbara rather quickly :p - I had to return to work (I was working from home on my computer)

The 3.0's and 2800's near the 2002s had my full attention. And the Alpina was nice.

I have to pick one? :yikes: The Rogue E46 M3 wagon conversion was very cool, and I loved the E28 M5.
