My transmission light just came on. Any suggestions?

Provided that you mean the little orange gear with the exclamation point:

This means that the AT software had a "fault" and went into Failsafe Mode. You only have 3rd and 4th gear. If you Read The Fine Manual you will see that the recommended first action is to turn the car off, wait 5 minutes, then turn it back on.

If you get it again, do it again. If you get it some more, it is Mechanic Time. My liimited experience is that it shows up most often when electrical faults happen elsewhere in the car, and this shows up as a side effect.
