Hi i have a 1994 318is Coupe that has devloped a problem, the engine just seems to lose power even though my foot has not moved on the pedal then it comes back after a couple of seconds, ive had the injectors cleaned, new fuel pump, fuel filter, a service everything i can think of. No light or anything come on or go out once it starts it keeps coming back mainly in traffic and the idle becomes very irratic but it never stalls, i've been told it could be the air flow meter could this be true? or any other ideas?
Please Help

Hi,
Just a thought, do you have a snow/ice control button in your car, if that accidently gets switched on it gives an immediate loss of power. or may the same control may be shorting out .
Just a thought

The car was serviced less than 2000 miles ago and the air filter was done then. Since then ive done the fuel pump the fuel filter and had the injecters cleaned. Anything else i can try? The garage keeps telling me to change the air flow meter ?

It's easy to open the air box and check the filter. I assume you've already done that.
In that case, the AFM is at least a logical diagnosis.
You don't happen to use K&N air filters (that needs oil in them), right?

Yes i have checked the air filter. The car it's self is all standard so no K&N airfilter, So it all seems to point to the Air Flow Meter. Looks like that's the next thing to change!
Thats for the help!
