If we added special sub-forums for you guys, would you post here regularly?

Possibly, but I can't be sure. I will be honest, it would be rather light in my own case.

Don't own a classic, but would sure like to lurk in that sub-forum. I would love to read the chatter of e9 owners.

You know what, now that I think about it, if you lumped them all together I would post more than if they were all separate. :D

I'm sure classic owners would migrate to a friendly forum where talk is about "pre-everything-electronic" and where the "hard-to-find" stuff is.
I, for one, would post more.

I thought it was a hidden forum. cause the pre-1980 BMW's are super sweet. I kept looking for their section, but gave up after a few days.

I think this is a great idea and you would also find me posting more on this site.

Jon, this is a great idea. I for one would post more. The reson my post count is so low is for this very reason. This is the only forum I post in at bimmerfest.com.

I say yes :)

If you buiild it, we will come.

A lot of us e21 folk have a decent e-home over on bf.c, but a Classics forum on here would give us a way to associate more with the other great M10 owners ('02) and the other older cars that we all have to be thankful to (e9, Bavaria, etc).

I would make sure to split my online forum time up between here, there, and the board I'm a moderator on. PLEASE do it Jon!!!!

(...and I should also start posting more in the e30 section too since I own 2 of those and have a bit too much useless info on them floating in my head....)

Would we need to implement separate forums, or would a single classics/vintage BMW forum do?

Btw CJ, congrats on yet another Battle of the Bimmers trophy...

I have raised the issue with my partners.

I am waiting to have a conference call to discuss it...

IMO, a "classics forum" in general would be better because from what i've seen, all the E21 guys here are also on other E21 message boards (BFC, bmw320i, & tricords).....so having an E21-only subforum would kinda be a moot point (i see enough of you E21 guys already, gosh! :p hahaha j/k)

Well,

Everyone please weigh in on their preference -- I spoke to my partners and we will be adding additional forum(s)...

I say "Classics", mainly for the same reason Jason (jbob) said. There are enough other places for PURE e21, e9 and '02 (to name a few) people to get chassis specific info, so one common forum on here would end up working well. I'm also not sure how many people we could get from the different chassis to actually NEED seperate forums for a few more chassis. There are almost enough e21's (both 'fest regulars and otherwise) around, but there aren't many from the other chassis as far as I can tell (but could be wrong).
