Hello all

I have a '95 530i and there is a leak that appears to come from the right side of the engine (drivers side).

I've seen the "Engine Oil Press" light and my oil light. I've filled it with more oil and the light would go away. Then it would reappear.

Sunday I took the car out for a drive and there was an issue with it accelerating and at times staying idle.

Not to incur anymore damage, I parked it and had it towed. The next day I went to move it and it drove (I took it around the block) fine.

Any ideas as the issue? Thanks

if the leak is from the oil pressure switch, then most likely replacing it will solve two problems.
however, the acceleration and idle issues may be unrelated and i would not want to guess about that.

Thanks for responding. Since this threadI purchased a Fault Code reader (the one from Peake) and the following codes were

OXYGEN SENSOR #1 & #2
Lambda Control #1 & #2

So I believe thats where my acceleration issues lie.

With regards to the leaks. I got the valve cover seals fixed however the leaks still continue. (What a waste of money but you live and learn). Now after the oxygen sensors arrive, I'm going to purchase a dye kit to isoloate the leak myself. I'll post my progress..
