hmm, that really doesn't look like 17k to me. 17k neglected miles, parked outside all the time, etc, maybe. Cracked dash. Detached canholder lid. Faded paint (or bad camera). Dirty doorpanels. OK seats. Nasty glovebox. Rusty bits in firewall well. A closer look at the front chin and nosepanel for chips would probably be a better indication of whether this is really 17k. Personally, I'd rather have one with more miles but in better shape.

It clearly wasn't a garage queen. Cinnabar doesn't age gracefully...it may fade worse than any other color. That dash crack is a real bummer...I imagine that part would be near impossible to find. But 17k (if accurate) is impressive. Probably worth $15k to the right person.

And what is up with those wheels? From an E38 750?

Yeah, I thought the wheel choice was interesting (forged 'fins' from a E38 750). I was originally looking for Cinnabar/Lotus but was put off by the bad fading on most, especially on the plastic parts (mirror caps, bumpers). My Royal is the same color on every piece.

I haven't noticed many E24 enthusiasts that are odometer freaks (most have well-driven and very well cared for examples) so the potential market probably isn't that big. Intact, uncracked dashes are out there, but it'll take a LOT of searching. And about 4-5 days of work to replace. IIRC someone on the BCG list recently did this.
